HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Medicine

Basically, Russian medical education covers up to six years and splits into separate specialist programmes of the general medical practitioner level.
To get a particular specialization like ophthalmology, surgery etc. it is also necessary to take internship and residency programs lasting from 2-4 years.
Those graduates who are interested in academic activity can enter PhD programs. To be enrolled, it is necessary to pass speciality and English exams, provide a portfolio of academic articles and pass an interview.
Russian medical education can be taken in about 70 universities including both specializing in medical sciences (e.g. Sechenov, Pirogov, Mechnikov etc.) and providing a wider range of specializations (e.g. RUDN, SPbU etc.)

Engineering

Russian engineering education programmes range from aircraft construction to bioengineering, a lot of which are taught in both Russian and English.
Depending on the program and degree level a competitive selection will include exams such as mathematics, physics and others depending on the desired specialization.
Foreign students are permitted to work in Russia while studying. Also foreign graduates of Russian universities can officially work in the Russian Federation for three years and can apply for citizenship.
Engineering specializations are provided by the majority of Russian universities such as. Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University LETI, Siberian Federal University, National Research Tomsk State University etc.

Information Technologies

While studying IT in Russian universities students are provided with internships in leading international organisations, which definitely foster their future career opportunities.
According to the law International students can work in Russia while studying. Foreign graduates can also officially work in the Russian Federation for three years and then apply for citizenship.
IT programs are offered by a wide range of universities that prepare developers, web designers, cryptographers, testers, information security engineers etc.
IT specializations are taught in ITMO University, Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI”, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, South Ural State University, Ural Federal University, National Research Tomsk State University etc.
